It’s that time of year again, which means it’s time to send the kids back to school, or maybe yours have already returned. Regardless of the circumstances, we encourage healthy dental habits this year.
Below, we have shared a checklist to help you help your child enjoy a clean bill of dental health.
Your Child’s Back-to-School Checklist
Our goal is to support you in helping your child this school year. We’ll take care of their smile at preventive visits and are always here to provide advice for home care.
This year, consider the following:
- See the dentist. — Book an appointment with their Vancouver dentist
- Plan visits with the family dentist. — Coordinate their dental appointments with the school calendar (professional development day or school holidays to mitigate time lost.
- Refresh on oral hygiene. — Monitor or evaluate their daily dental habits, including proper brushing and flossing techniques.
- Choose healthy lunch options. — Vow to pack healthy lunches and snacks for the upcoming school year. Instead of fruit juice and snack cakes, consider low-fat yogurt, nuts, crunchy veggies, and water.
- Protect your child's smile. — Be sure your child wears their mouthguard during sports and gym class.
