How long does it take to get a dental implant?

Dental implant treatment requires several visits over several months. The whole process may take from three to nine months, depending on the complexity of your treatment and how well you heal.

Our patients agree that the benefits of dental implants far outweigh the time it takes to complete them.

The Dental Implant Journey: What to Expect

Phase 1: The "Digital Blueprint" (Month 1)  — Before any surgery, we use advanced 3-D Cone Beam CT imaging right here in our East Vancouver dental office to ensure you have enough healthy bone to support the implant.

Phase 2: The Placement & "Osseointegration" (Months 2–6) — The implant (a small titanium post) is placed into the bone. Once the implant is placed, there is a healing period from three to six months.

Phase 3: The Final Restoration — Once the implant is integrated with your body, our dentists will place the final restoration. This is a custom porcelain crown for a single tooth replacement. Two to six dental implants can also support a bridge or denture to replace multiple missing teeth.
