Dr. Marcio Barros

Dentist

Dr. Marcio Barros was born in São Paulo, Brazil, and is the middle child of three siblings. His passion for dentistry began at an early age while spending time at his mother’s dental practice. It was there that he developed an appreciation for the profession and learned the importance of compassion, dedication, and self-discipline—qualities that would later guide him throughout his own career in dentistry.

After graduating from the University of São Paulo, Dr. Barros and his wife made the decision to move their family to Canada and begin a new chapter in their lives.

After settling in Canada, Dr. Barros returned to university to further his education and become familiar with dental practice in Canada. In the spring of 2013, he graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. He is grateful for the extensive clinical experience and advanced training he received at UBC’s state-of-the-art dental clinic.

Dr. Barros practiced dentistry in Kamloops for 13 years, where he had the privilege of caring for patients and families in the community. In 2026, he decided to relocate to Vancouver and continue the next chapter of his professional career.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Barros enjoys spending time with his family, cycling around Stanley Park, cooking, and fishing
